Two Marquette Business faculty members promoted

Marquette Business announced that Drs. Qianhua “Q” Ling and Felicia Miller have been promoted to associate professors with tenure.

Ling, associate professor of accounting, joined Marquette in 2007. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Beijing Technology and Business University and her Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University. She also worked for Occidental Eastern Inc., a subsidiary of Occidental Oil and Gas Corp., and Beijing Ericsson Communication Systems Co. Ltd.

An inactive CPA in China, Ling studies disclosure of financial and non-financial information, corporate governance, financial reporting issues related to not-for-profit organizations, and the role of information intermediary.

Miller, associate professor of marketing, joined Marquette in 2006 after completing her Ph.D. at the University of Cincinnati. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with a concentration in marketing from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. After graduation, Miller worked for nearly a decade in the brand management organization at the Procter & Gamble Company where she served as the brand manager for the Pepto-Bismol and ThermaCare brands.

Miller’s current research projects include an examination of the multifaceted nature of brand meaning and the process by which brands acquire meaning.
