NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, recently announced that Marquette University has joined a list of nine universities around the country who are members of NAIOP. Marquette will be members of both the Wisconsin and Chicago chapters.

"We are so excited to make this happen,” said Chris Korjenek, executive director for NAIOP Wisconsin. "We work so closely with Marquette that this just makes sense. Marquette's Real Estate program is very strong. The relationship will be very beneficial to both NAIOP and Marquette."

Fifty Marquette students in the real estate program are now members of NAIOP and will have access to chapter meetings and events, a membership directory, career center and other select resources. According to NAIOP, they will gain real-world experience that will supplement their formal classroom instruction.  It provides excellent contacts and benefits to the students as they explore their options for the future, Korjenek added.

"We've enjoyed a great, longstanding relationship with NAIOP, and we're honored to join them now as a University Member," said Dr. Mark Eppli, interim Keyes Dean of Business Administration and Bell Chair in Real Estate. "A hallmark of our real estate program is providing students with real-world, applied experiences that enhance their learning and prepare them to be world-class commercial real estate professionals. I can think of no better way to augment this than by working more closely with NAIOP."
