March 28, 2011
Two teams of management students returned from Pittsburgh with accolades after participating in the second annual Intercollegiate Project Management Triathlon 2011, hosted by Duquesne University, March 25-27, 2011. The competition tests undergraduate students’ knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge guide through their responses to case-based scenarios.
The first Marquette team, Blue, comprised Richard Casper, Christopher Jeske, MaryKate McCarthy and Eric Wendorff. The Gold team featured Laura Buikus, Alejandra Covarrubias, Nicholas Hookham and Britney McFarlane.
Marquette’s Gold and Blue teams placed first and second, respectively, in the Quick-Fire Challenge. In this leg of the triathlon, teams were given a project management scenario, and they had one hour to develop and submit three project management documents.
In the Individual All-Star Quiz-Bowl, a Jeopardy-style event, Buikus placed second and McCarthy came in third.
The Blue team came in third and the Gold team place fourth in the Team Quiz Bowl.
Marquette competed against Duquesne, the University of South Carolina and West Virginia University.
