Marketing’s Laczniak elected president of international Macromarketing Society

Dr. Gene Laczniak, Sanders Professor Emeritus of Marketing, was recently elected as president of the Macromarketing Society. The MMS is a worldwide association of university academics who conduct research on questions related to the interaction of marketing, markets and society. The group’s scholarly focus includes issues such as alternative market systems, quality-of-life trends, marketing ethics and developing economies.

The major activities of the organization include the sponsorship of its flagship Journal of Macromarketing and an annual conference – the next one to be held at Royal Holloway University in London in July of 2014.

Laczniak was also recently honored by the organization with the 2013 Charles Slater Award for the most influential Journal of Macromarketing article over the past two years.
