EMBA student named senior vice president at Catholic Financial Life

Marquette EMBA student John Borgen has been promoted to senior vice president at Catholic Financial Life, President and CEO Bill O’Toole announced. In this new role, Borgen will have oversight of the sales, marketing, fraternal and member service departments of the society.

Borgen has been with Catholic Financial Life for four years, having first been hired as fraternal director in 2009. In 2010 he was promoted to vice president of fraternal and again promoted in 2011 to vice president of fraternal and member services. Prior to his tenure at Catholic Financial Life, Borgen spent 10 years working in fundraising and strategic planning for a variety of charitable nonprofit organizations.

He received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn., and also holds a master’s degree in philanthropy from Indiana University. Borgen will obtain his MBA from Marquette in 2014.
