Center for Real Estate director moderated key industry panel

Mark Eppli, Bell Chair in Real Estate, on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, moderated a panel discussion in front of a packed house at the annual Commercial Real Estate and Development Conference, presented by the Center for Real Estate and BizTimes Milwaukee. More than 400 Milwaukee-area commercial real estate and finance professionals attended the conference titled, “Milwaukee: The Way Forward…Establishing Development Priorities.”
Eppli, who is also the center’s director, led a panel discussion based on a survey of the Commercial Association of Realtors, which posed the following questions: 1) Which projects would be the best investments, 2) Which projects would generate the greatest returns for the community and 3) What needs to be done to move the projects forward?
Panelists included Barry Mandel, Mandel Group; Gary Grunau, Grucon Group; Mike Mervis, Zilber Ltd.; and Jim Barry III, Cassidy Turley Barry. Opening remarks were delivered by Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee Department of City Development Commissioner Rocky Marcoux, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and CARW President Jim Villa.
