ACRE grads honored with ‘Central City Business Awards’
March 21, 2011
Five graduates of the Center for Real Estate’s Associates in Commercial Real Estate (ACRE) program were honored recently with the Business Journal of Milwaukee’s “Central City Business Awards.” Two of the six firms honored by the Business Journal are run by ACRE graduates, including JCP Construction (James, Jalin and Clifton Phelps) and Maures Development Group (Melissa Goins) in the Small Company Award category. ACRE alumnus Nelson Soler was awarded in the Individual Honors category.
Prior to the enrolling in ACRE, James Phelps, who is now president of JCP, was part of a painting crew for Milwaukee Public Schools, and Goins was a guard for the prison system.
The Central City Business Awards recognize entrepreneurs and commercial enterprises whose contributions toward growth, expansion and prosperity are making a difference in Milwaukee's central city and others across the region.
