Assistant Professor of Economics
Dr. Smyth joined the faculty at Marquette in 2016 after spending two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Economic Science Institute of Chapman University in Orange, California. His research interests are in the field of industrial organization, particularly the economics of innovation and technological change. He frequently employs experimental economic methods in his research. Dr. Smyth's research has been published in The Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, the Review of Industrial Organization, and The Economic History Review.
