Welcome from the Chair
Welcome to the Marketing Department at Marquette University where learning from experts is the top priority. Undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to learn from professors who publish in leading scholarly journals, present findings at conferences, review academic papers, and regularly appear on local media. They bring state-of-the-art knowledge to their classes, having also edited journals, written books, earned Fulbright scholarships, teaching awards, and external grants for research.
One of the most popular undergraduate majors at the College of Business Administration, the Marketing Department offers students with a variety of avenues to learn. Students are able explore up to ten electives each semester. They also work to develop their knowledge globally, as part of study abroad programs in Europe and Asia. Our students learn alongside others with different cultural experiences and perspectives, gaining a deeper understanding of the diverse world in which we live.
Many marketing students complete internships that allow them to take the skills and knowledge of the classroom and apply at a business or non-profit organization in the area.
Graduation marks a transition from student life to professional life. The marketing department is dedicated to preparing students for this transition. Marketing faculty understand that as we enter the second decade of the 21st century, marketing will play a key role in dealing with issues such as productivity, sustainability, and integrity. They also understand that future marketing leaders will succeed by being ethically and socially responsible leaders, shaped by the guiding principle of cura personalis.
