About Us

Educating Global Leaders

The rise of globalization has been accelerated by the growth and accessibility of the Internet, global communication, and social networks. Organizations must respond to the new interconnectedness and interdependency of business, culture, and society with a workforce prepared to excel in the global economy.

At Marquette, we have identified global perspective as one of our four pillars. This focus on global issues drives our commitment to international business education. Our students must become adept at functioning in countries that are foreign in culture, language, and business environment. Similarly, our faculty must continue to develop a world view by collaborating across geographic borders with faculty and businesses in other cultures and incorporating globalization into their research agendas and teaching content.

The mission of the College of Business Administration International Business Studies (OIBS) program is to prepare business students for the challenges of global leadership in a flat world. Our programs are designed to help them to understand how diversity, interdependencies and differences affect our perception of and interactions with people around the globe.
