The economics discipline has continually grown over the years, and in addition to standard courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and monetary economics, the department also offers many other options including the economics of religion, environmental economics, econometrics and international currency markets to name just a few. Economic forces will influence you throughout your life, and there is no better way to understand those factors than with a major in economics. You can choose among the following options:
Undergraduate
- BS degree in Business Economics (College of Business Administration)
- BA degree in Economics (College of Arts and Sciences)
- Minor in Economics (College of Arts and Sciences)
- BS degree in Applied Mathematical Economics (Interdisciplinary degree in the College of Arts and Sciences)
Master of Science in Applied Economics (MSAE)
- All Marquette undergraduate economics students can complete the MSAE in a fifth year of study.
Specializations include:
- Business Economics
- Financial Economics
- International Economics
- Marketing Research Economics
Students that have or will have completed a four-year degree in a related field from any institution can apply for the MSAE degree. Also, Marquette undergraduate students pursuing a BS or BA in Economics can complete both the bachelors and the MSAE degree degrees with the addition of a fifth year of study.
