Waiver Policy

Core or Core Elective Course Waiver Policy

Students are eligible to be waived from a core or core elective course if all of the following are met:

  1. they request the waiver in writing
  2. have an undergraduate or graduate major, from an accredited school, in the academic area requesting to be waived from within the last 10 years, and
  3. professional experience in the area.

To fulfill the waiver, the student must take an elective or core elective, in the area of the waiver (i.e., a student waived from the core course, MARK 6100 Marketing Management, must take an elective or core elective in the area of Marketing, such as Marketing Ethics.

A student that takes the elective or core elective course within the required number of electives of the program does not need to replace the three credits of the core courses and reduces the total number of credits required to complete the MBA program. If a student has taken all of their electives in other academic areas and still needs to fulfill the required elective in the core course area, the student will be required to take an additional elective to fulfill the waiver.
